We've tried Hornady's but for some inexplicable reason, our Savages prefer the Noslers.
I was in process of building a .260 Remington for my host in Alberta, however he seems to have his mind made up for a new Savage in .338 Lapua Magnum. All I can do is shake my head as he is very recoil shy. He adamantly claims the included brake reduces felt recoil to that of a light .308.
We used to have to qualify with a Sporter weight .308 Win and following a course of fire of forty rounds, it was not uncommon for several of my men to have bruised shoulders as just uniform shirts were allowed to be worn.
My host assumes that I shall do the reloading for him as well. In the final analysis, the fault may be my own as I am the one that exposed him to shooting a .338 LM (Heavy 36 pound with after-market brake) several years ago and that rifle's recoil was extremely light.
What someone needs to invent is a portable shooting platform about 15/20 foot deck. Something one could disassemble and throw in the back of a p/u within five minutes. For 2% of ur gross and a couple of prototypes, you may have this idea!
